The crash 05:21
Traveling across the Milky Way Cruising at 10 lightyears a day I relax and let the computer Monitor the flight parameters Suddenly a red light starts blinking The system has issued a warning Gravity inversion field is low Dark energy is failing to flow Emergency procedure enabled Hyperspace propulsion disengaged Slowing down under the light barrier Situation is becoming severe Spaceship now making a u-turn Heading to a yellow star called Sun Navigation plan has been reset Landing attempt on a blue planet Plasma engine out of order Fire onboard, critical failure Imminent crash, trying to pull back Countdown…5…4…3…2…1…Impact

I come from a place where huge rivers Spring from volcano gaping craters I come from a place where trees hover In the air until the day’s over I’ll never see my world again I am bound to be an alien I come from a place where flowers glow Fields are milky ways to walk around I come from a place where mountains grow From meteor rains seeding the ground I’ll never see my world again I am bound to be an alien

Leave me alone Just let me cry Leave me alone Don’t ask me why Why do you frown? Don’t let me whine Don’t let me moan Help me get by
4.
I’ll never see the way you see I’ll never hear the way you hear I’ll never feel the way you feel How can I blend in as an Earthling? I am not made of flesh and blood And I know you think it’s odd I’m digital, you’re analog Is this why you’re acting rogue? My DNA is a flash RAM My eyes are infrared cams You and I’ll never be the same But am I really to blame? I’ll never dream the way you dream I’ll never love the way you love I’ll never cry the way you cry How can I blend in as an Earthling? I am not made of flesh and blood And I know you think it’s odd I’m digital, you’re analog Is this why you’re acting rogue? My DNA is a flash RAM My eyes are infrared cams You and I’ll never be the same But am I really to blame?

Homesick 03:48
I am alone Away from home I’m on my own My world is gone I have been grounded here for so long Will I ever fly back to where I belong? My ship is blown Lightyears from home Distress has grown To depression I have been grounded here for so long Will I ever fly back to where I belong? My mood is down But I won’t drown I’ll overcome The situation I have been grounded here for so long Will I ever fly back to where I belong?

Damaged soul 04:22
I’ve been feeling, since I booted up A dizziness I can’t get over What’s going on with my setup? There’s something wrong I can’t figure Speech disorder, confused mind A virus of some kind Neurons out of control Blurred vision, damaged soul It’s taking me synapse by synapse My system is about collapse I am slipping into darkness Fading into unconsciousness Speech disorder, confused mind A virus of some kind Neurons out of control Blurred vision, damaged soul I’ve been feeling, since I booted up Somewhat awkward, a little messed up

Winter song 03:56
My first winter here’s not as bad as I feared Though my presence is still perceived as being weird Snow flakes are dancing around me and I feel Earth as my new home has become somewhat real All is white and pure like I have never seen All is bright and cures the bleakness of my dreams My first winter here’s not as bad as I thought I have come to like the trap in which I’m caught I’m roaming around these immaculate hills Though spoiled by mankind, this planet is a thrill All is white and pure like I have never seen All is bright and cures the bleakness of my dreams

Maybe I can 03:35
I can hover in the air Beam you up to Jupiter I can fly faster than light Make Einstein look not so bright I can blindly navigate Through an asteroid belt I can escape a black hole And even forward a phone call But I will never kill the pain I will never dry the rain In the sky of your eyes No matter how hard I try I can translate any word To any language I’ve heard I can win an argument Against any opponent I can compute on the fly One billion digits of Pi I can never give a wrong Answer to any question But I will never kill the pain I will never dry the rain In the sky of your eyes No matter how hard I try I can see from your brainwaves That you’re digging your own grave I can see you’re feeling low Want to help but don’t know how I can keep singing this verse Until you’re done with the curse I can, maybe, take your hand Maybe I can be your friend
9.
I go every now and then Downtown hiding in the streets Invisible citizen I watch people and I wish I could be the one who passes by I could be the one who shuts his eyes I could be the one who says goodbye I could be the one who wonders why I switch to transparent mode And I wander unnoticed Lost among the rushing crowd I watch people and I wish I could be the one who passes by I could be the one who fakes a cry I could be the one who talks with pride I could be the one who walks all night …One who passes by I could be the one who stops a while I could be the one who gives a dime If I could be once this plain old guy

Flying back 03:55
I’m flying back I’m flying back I’m flying back To Andromeda The time has come To spread my wings I’m moving on With no hard feelings I’ll soon be gone The solar winds Will fly me home With my fellow beings

about

Light years from Earth, in constellation Andromeda, is a binary star around which orbits Upsilon Andromedae D, a gas giant planet and its satellites. On one of them, an intelligent humanoid life form has developed. This advanced civilization has designed various robots, including androids meant to interact with them, and capable of feeling emotions.

Once upon a time, one of them unexpectedly crashed his spaceship on Earth... This is where the story began.

"Terrestrial songs" gathers the songs he wrote while stuck on our planet. It is the musical diary of his stay among us. It is also the first half of the soundtrack for an online graphic short story called "A space castaway".
